Last Minute Getaway

My husband is the spontaneous one in our relationship. I am Type A, planner extraordinaire (in comparison). So when he insisted on a camping getaway this past weekend, with only an hour or two to prep for said trip, I was a little hesitant to go to say the least. But I'm so glad he talked me into it =)

We went to Bulldog Camps on Enchanted Pond, which is just south of Jackman, ME. This place has a very special meaning to both Z and I, and it was Stella's first trip to the camp. It is the most comfortable rustic camp ever! Running water, gas lighting, toilet in your cabin so you don't have to run into a bear in the middle of the night on your run to an outhouse (yes, there are bears)! Plus the view is incredible! No TV, no cell phone reception, just peace and quiet.  Plus if you pay a little extra you can have all of your meals prepared for you - keep in mind this is a hunting camp, so wildlife is a-plenty, and you may want to bring your own food if you are a vegetarian =)

If you ever get the opportunity to go there, do not hesitate! It appeals to the most "manly" guy and is comfortable enough for the most "delicate" gal.  It is well worth the trip up!
