We got our tree at the annual Tree Cutting, a wonderful little family tradition that we hold every Saturday after Thanksgiving.
The tree was the first item to go up, but was looking somewhat naked, given that all of our ornaments are hidden in boxes. So I got creative! Borrowed lights from the Mom, went for a walk in the woods to find some red berries to stick in, and made some garland out of all of the ribbon that had been lovingly wrapped around wedding gifts. I got the idea from another Stewart woman - you all know her as Martha.
A few days later, my Mom found a few of my old Christmas decorations. And voila - Our Christmas Tree!
The next thing on the agenda??
My very first Christmas Wreath! I've been DYING to learn how to make wreaths forever now, and there was no one better to learn from than my MIL! She even taught me how to tie the bow (which is no small feat)!
Looking forward to possibly a new Holiday tradition - making wreaths with Z's Family =)
